Winter on the Mongolian plateau plunges temperatures to -40°C. The arterial routes from Ulaanbaatar to remote provinces are often desolate stretches of icy roads, spanning hundreds of kilometers without human presence. This is the ultimate “extreme cold testing ground” for trucks. Yet, for the Coca-Cola Mongolia fleet, it is a crucial lifeline that demands precise, 24/7 year-round operations.

Coca-Cola’s trailers are packed with thousands of fragile beverages. To prevent bottle damage, the trucks must deliver an exceptionally smooth and stable ride. Safely delivering intact cargo across this harsh, unpopulated tundra seemed like an impossible mission—until SHACMAN arrived.
Trust Built on the Ice
No major client would easily entrust their core logistics routes to an untested brand. The partnership between Coca-Cola and SHACMAN began with a cautious trial.
Initially, three SHACMAN X3000 trucks were deployed for local short-haul transit. Over a year of intense operation, these reliable workhorses earned the fleet managers’ trust with their low failure rates and solid chassis. Soon after, the more powerful X5000 joined the fleet, flawlessly handling heavy-duty inter-city distribution.
Building on these successes, Coca-Cola Mongolia made a major decision in June 2025: deploying the fully customized X6000 tractors to conquer their longest and most challenging long-haul routes.
A Tailored “Land Fortress” for the -40°C Winter
The batch of X6000 trucks sent to Mongolia is not standard trucks; they are custom-built “land fortresses” engineered specifically for this extreme environment.
To ensure a flawless cold start on bone-chilling mornings, engineers equipped the WP13 engine with an intake heating system and a 9kW coolant heater to ensure reliable cold starts. To combat the bitter cold, a 4kW independent air heater keeps the cabin cozy, while a heated fuel-water separator ensures smooth fuel lines.
To protect the fragile bottle from bumpy roads, the chassis features full rear air suspension. Like premium shock-absorbing running shoes, it neutralizes road bumps and makes the fleet’s high-frequency drop-and-hook operations incredibly smooth.
For icy descents, the high-horsepower engine, AMT gearbox, hydraulic retarder, and 6-channel EBS anti-slip system form an invisible safety net. Furthermore, the massive 760L+230L dual fuel tanks provide a range of over 1,000 km, completely eliminating range anxiety in unpopulated areas.
The Invisible Co-Pilot: From Reactive to Proactive
In a vast no-man’s land without service stations, breakdowns are a driver’s worst nightmare. The SHACMAN Mongolia service team’s solution: don’t let them happen.
They pioneered a “preventive maintenance” model, helping the fleet establish a strict pre- and post-trip dual-inspection system, while over-stocking parts at the Ulaanbaatar central warehouse. Every potential hazard is eliminated before departure.
Empowered by SHACMAN Telematics, the service team also acts as a digital “invisible co-pilot.” By analyzing remote data, they noticed abnormal fuel consumption caused by excessive idling during loading. They quickly launched an eco-driving training program, establishing a strict new fleet rule: “Engine off after 3 minutes of parking.”
Zero Breakdowns and a Shared Vision
Customized vehicles paired with proactive digital services delivered astounding results. To date, the X6000 boasts zero breakdowns in the no-man’s land. Average daily idling time plummeted by 65%, component wear is far below industry averages, and overall fleet uptime remains above 98.5%.

Today, across the vast highway networks linking Ulaanbaatar to remote provinces, the classic red of Coca-Cola and the resolute silhouette of the SHACMAN X6000 have become one. More than a successful fleet delivery, it stands as a profound interpretation of ultimate reliability, steadfast guardianship, and a win-win partnership. With new orders on the horizon, this legend on the ice continues to unfold.
