Journalists from 46 Countries Visit BAIC FOTON to Witness Chinese Commercial Vehicles Going Global
Recently, 53 journalists from 46 countries visited BAIC FOTON as part of a special presentation hosted by BAIC Group under the “Foreign Journalists Explore Beijing” program. The visit offered an opportunity to learn firsthand about the latest developments in China’s commercial vehicle industry in new energy technologies, intelligent manufacturing, and global expansion.
The group visited the vehicle exhibition area, the technology and ecosystem exhibition hall, and FOTON’s global bus manufacturing center, observing the facilities and asking questions along the way. In the exhibition area, heavy-duty trucks, light-duty trucks, buses, and new-energy vehicles were displayed in an orderly arrangement, prompting journalists to stop and take a closer look. On the factory floor, equipment operated smoothly along the intelligent production lines as vehicles gradually took shape on the assembly line, offering journalists an insight into FOTON’s end-to-end R&D system. Many journalists also took photos to document their visit.
During the discussion, journalists raised questions on a range of topics. Reporters from Latin America asked about BAIC FOTON’s priorities in key markets, while journalists from Central and Eastern Europe inquired about plans for introducing new-energy products. Representatives from Pacific island nations also asked whether products would be adapted to local climate and road conditions. BAIC FOTON addressed each question with detailed responses.
As a key pillar of BAIC Group’s commercial vehicle business, BAIC FOTON has continued to advance its transformation across three key areas: internationalization, new energy, and intelligent technologies. Its products are now available in more than 140 countries and regions, with cumulative sales exceeding 13 million units. The company has ranked first in China in commercial vehicle exports for 15 consecutive years. Looking ahead, BAIC FOTON will focus on localized manufacturing and deeper local market engagement, developing products tailored to the climate conditions and application scenarios of different markets. Through these efforts, the company aims to provide customers worldwide with more tailored solutions to support the transition to green energy.
Following the visit, several journalists said they had found the experience valuable. Carlos Dario, a journalist from Ecuador, noted that BAIC FOTON’s heavy-duty trucks are well received in his country, offering practical solutions to support local green development. He added that the technological progress made by Chinese companies brings meaningful value to their partners.
A single visit can open a window to a wider world. The observations and experiences of journalists from 46 countries offer a vivid perspective on BAIC FOTON’s presence in international markets, while reflecting how China’s commercial vehicle industry is expanding globally and contributing to the world’s green transition. Looking ahead, BAIC FOTON will continue to build on its independent innovation capabilities, connecting markets around the world with smarter, greener commercial vehicles. Through mutually beneficial partnerships, the company aims to create new opportunities for the global development of China’s commercial vehicle industry.
