Today, Wuling announced configurations for four variants of its “All-Rounder Rugged Spacious SUV” Starlight 560, including the Fuel 1.5T 6MT Comfort, Fuel 1.5T CVT Elite, PHEV 125km Luxury and BEV 500km Luxury models. As the only model in its class to offer three powertrain options in one lineup, it meets users’ diverse “hard-core” needs across multiple scenarios and use cases. All variants come standard with over 30 premium core features such as front and rear independent suspension and cornering assist lighting, with the new vehicle set to officially launch on January 15.
Hard-Core Performance: Standard Independent Suspension & Three Powertrain Options
The Starlight 560 is built on a dedicated chassis, with MacPherson front suspension and multi-link rear suspension as standard across the entire range, balancing driving stability and ride comfort.
- Fuel variants are powered by a 1.5T high-torque engine with direct injection technology, delivering a maximum torque of up to 290N·m for an optimal blend of power and fuel efficiency.
- The PHEV variant achieves a segment-exclusive combined driving range of over 1,000km, with a class-leading WLTC fuel consumption of 5.3L/100km in charge-depleting mode, boasting outstanding energy-saving performance.
- The BEV variant offers a CLTC range of 500km with an energy consumption rate of 13.1kW·h/100km, and supports 2C fast charging, striking a perfect balance between range and charging efficiency.
Both PHEV and BEV variants are equipped with battery heating and intelligent thermal management functions to mitigate range degradation in winter. They also support 220V external power discharge, transforming into a “mobile power station” at any time to cater to scenarios like camping, outdoor live streaming and mobile vending. In addition, roof racks come as standard, further enhancing the vehicle’s rugged styling and practical expandability.
Comfortable Cabin: Class-Leading Space & Practical Features
As the only mid-size SUV priced under RMB 60,000, the Starlight 560 offers an 83% space utilization rate, with the trunk volume expandable up to 1945L for class-leading load capacity.
The seats feature ergonomic design with thick cushions and well-fitted backrests. The front seats can be reclined 180° flat, while the rear seat backrest can be adjusted up to 125°, ensuring both ride comfort and flexible interior layout. The cabin is fitted with a 12.8-inch high-definition central control screen, supporting Hicar/Carlink/DLNA smartphone connectivity. PHEV and BEV variants are equipped with column-mounted electronic gear shift, providing intuitive and comfortable operation.
Additional practical standard features include one-touch up/down driver’s window with anti-pinch function, 6-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, keyless entry & push-button start, reverse camera, smartphone remote control and full-vehicle OTA updates, delivering a hassle-free user experience.
All-Round Safety: High-Strength Body & Multi-Dimensional Protection
Safety is always Wuling’s top priority. The Starlight 560 adopts a six-ring high-strength steel cage body and is equipped with Shenlian Battery, which has achieved zero thermal runaway in over 3 million units despite collision incidents. Other safety features include driver and front passenger airbags, automatic headlights, heated exterior mirrors, HHC hill-hold control and AUTO HOLD automatic parking.
The vehicle’s intelligent lighting system features dual-lens design for high and low beams, providing a 140° wide illumination angle at night with a high-beam projection distance of over 190 meters. Cornering assist lighting comes standard across all variants, significantly improving driving safety in low-light conditions.
