On September 1, Great Wall Motor Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Great Wall Motor”) released its sales data for August 2025.

In August, Great Wall Motor sold 115,558 new vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 22.33%, achieving its best-ever August sales performance; sales of new energy vehicles reached 37,495 units, up 50.92% year-on-year; sales of vehicles priced above 200,000 yuan hit 31,631 units, a year-on-year growth of 50.57%; overseas sales amounted to 45,166 units, rising 11.65% year-on-year to a new all-time high; sales of “box-style” models reached 54,718 units, a year-on-year increase of 37.29%, maintaining its position as the sales champion in the box-style vehicle segment. From January to August 2025, Great Wall Motor sold a total of 789,719 new vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 5.94%.

In August, Great Wall Motor accelerated the launch of new products, leveraged intelligent empowerment to enhance market performance, and demonstrated its user-value orientation. Meanwhile, it completed the construction and put into operation its Brazil factory, advanced brand upgrading through multiple dimensions, and committed itself to high-quality development.
Empowering Market Performance with Intelligent Technology
Haval sold 68,912 new vehicles in August, a year-on-year increase of 22.69%. On August 19, the 2026 Haval Menglong was launched, with a limited-time preferential price starting at 153,800 yuan; orders exceeded 21,856 units within 24 hours of launch. On August 26, the second-generation Haval H9 Warrior Edition was released, with a limited-time preferential price starting at 214,900 yuan. On August 29, the Haval Big Dog PLUS opened for pre-sale, with a pre-sale price starting at 112,800 yuan.

Wey New Energy sold 8,028 new vehicles in August, a year-on-year surge of 167.51%. In August, the all-new Wey Lanshan and all-new Wey Gaoshan received the OTA 3.3 upgrade, achieving multi-dimensional evolution in intelligent driving assistance and smart cockpit; the Wey Lanshan ranked No. 1 on the 2025 Yiche New Energy Extreme Range List.

Tank SUV sold 20,022 new vehicles in August, a year-on-year increase of 22.46%. On August 27, the all-new Tank 500 was launched, with a starting price of 335,000 yuan. The all-new Tank 500 delivers an enhanced intelligent experience, demonstrates all-scenario capabilities, and further strengthens Great Wall Motor’s off-road product matrix.

ORA sold 5,223 new vehicles in August, a month-on-month increase of 21.47%. In August, the 2025 ORA Haomao & Haomao GT Mulan Edition received an OTA upgrade, with 9 functional upgrades including Coffee OS 3.3, making the vehicles smarter, more comfortable, and safer.

Great Wall Pickup sold 13,322 new vehicles in August, with cumulative global sales reaching 2.812 million units. In August, Great Wall Pickup continued to expand the global market with its outstanding product matrix, and consolidated its advantages amid the trends of “passengerization, intelligentization, and customization”. On August 29, the racing-grade pickup V6 Huopao opened for pre-sale, with a pre-sale price of 229,800 yuan.
Six Brands Gather at the Chengdu Auto Show

On August 29, Great Wall Motor brought six brands—Haval, Wey New Energy, Tank SUV, ORA, Great Wall Pao, and Great Wall Soul Motorcycle—to the 2025 Chengdu International Auto Show, with over 30 flagship models including the all-new Tank 500, Haval Big Dog PLUS, and V6 Huopao making their debuts. Additionally, at the auto show, Great Wall Motor strived to create an event for in-depth connection with users; Wei Jianjun, Chairman of Great Wall Motor, announced that he would personally participate in the 2025 Dunhuang Off-Road Endurance Race, conveying the brand’s commitment to “growing together with users and safeguarding their passions”.

To reward users with high quality and high value, Great Wall Motor has established a strict quality management system and built a series of advanced laboratories including a multi-angle collision laboratory (Asia’s largest independent safety laboratory), dedicated to improving product quality. From August 12 to 19, during the “Great Wall’s 35th Anniversary Open Day”, numerous media outlets gathered at Great Wall Motor to visit its entire industrial chain and the full process of quality control on-site. On August 27, at the event “Great Wall Hi4 Pays Tribute to Dujiangyan & Launch of the All-New Tank 500”, Wei Jianjun, Chairman of Great Wall Motor, explained the Hi4 technology—partially inspired by Dujiangyan and leading the popularization of high-end 4WD—and put forward the development goal of “bringing value to global users”.
Accelerating Ecological Globalization, Deepening Penetration in the Latin American Market
In August, Great Wall Motor continued to accelerate its globalization process. In the early morning of August 16 (Beijing time), Great Wall Motor’s Brazil factory was officially completed and put into operation. Brazilian President Lula, Vice President Alckmin, and other dignitaries, together with Mu Feng, President of Great Wall Motor, Shi Qingke, President of Great Wall International, and Zhang Gengshen, President of Great Wall Motor’s Brazil & Mexico Region, witnessed this milestone. This progress will provide sustained impetus for Great Wall Motor to deepen its presence in the Brazilian and Latin American markets.
